Downloadable POI (Points Of Interest) for Hat Creek Rim. Waypoints for the site are available here.
The POI includes: Launches and landing areas (for Burney Mountain too), pilot bulletin board,
Fireside Village Store and Cafe, Hat Creek Hereford Ranch RV Park and
Campground.
More local amenities and attractions can be found
here but are not converted to POI.
If you need to convert the POI to a format compatible to your navigation system,
I found PoiEdit to be a
very useful program. It will batch convert files - you can find this option under
"tools". You can download it
here for free.
Also, to load POI on a Garmin unit, download the Garmin
POI Loader
here for free.
PLEASE NOTE: It is beneficial if you use the site map along with the POI. Turn-by-turn errors are possible, depending on the unit you have and the maps that are loaded on it (especially with the more remote POI). Also, vehicle navigation systems don't always take you on the most logical route - if you have one you know that. One constant I have found with my Garmin c550; the final destination direction and straight-line distance information is reliable - just like a waypoint it will take you to your desired destination.
